About This Camp
September in the Central Highlands rains in the afternoon. Rather than pretend otherwise, this camp is built around it: one long, structured session every morning while the weather is dry and cool, and the afternoon is yours. That makes it the only week on the calendar that genuinely works for an athlete travelling with a partner. You train hard from six to midday, and you are free from lunch onwards. Da Lat itself is the reason to come: moderate altitude, cool air, and climbs that change what a week of training can do. Honest positioning, unchanged: a Climbing & Cool Build camp, not a high-altitude blood camp.
Camp Focus
Cool-climate climbing at 1,500m, concentrated into a single quality session each morning. 18°C at the start, pine forest, and the best climbing roads in the country: worked once a day, properly, instead of twice a day, half-heartedly.
The week
A typical week, session by session
Day type: one main session each morning (a long climbing or threshold block on the bike, or a swim-run brick), finishing before the afternoon rain. Afternoons free. Two evening sessions in the week on data and pacing, and nothing scheduled on the others.

What these sessions are
- Arrival
- Land, build the bike, meet the group. Nothing is trained on the first day.
- Evening debrief
- The group sits down with the coaches: the day's data, pacing, fuelling, and what changes tomorrow.
- Endurance ride
- Steady aerobic riding, at a pace you could hold all day. Most of a camp week is this.
- Free
- Nothing scheduled. The afternoon is yours.
- Climbing block
- Sustained uphill work, on the best climbing road the base has.
- Brick
- Bike then run, back to back. The part of a race you cannot rehearse one discipline at a time.
- Recovery
- Mobility, an easy swim, or nothing. The session that makes the next hard one possible.
- Bike intervals
- Structured efforts above endurance pace, with the recoveries written in.
- Easy run
- Running kept genuinely easy, off the bike or on its own.
- Departure
- Bikes packed, transfers out. The camp closes on the Friday it opened on.
Indicative structure, not a contract. Sessions move for the weather, the sea and the group that turns up. There are deliberately no durations, distances or intensities here: those get written for the athletes actually on the camp, once the coaches have seen them train.
The destination
About Da Lat
Best season
January-April (dry) · September for cool mornings
Terrain
Hilly / Mountain
At 1,500m in the Central Highlands, Da Lat trades lowland heat for 18°C mornings, pine-forest scenery and Vietnam's best climbing roads. Not a high-altitude blood camp, but a cool-climate, climbing-focused build block where session quality is transformed.
Why train here
Moderate altitude and cool climate (15-24°C vs 30-38°C in Saigon) make every session higher quality. Hilly terrain is ideal for structured climbing work. Honest positioning: Climbing & Cool Build, not a Font-Romeu-style altitude camp.
