Sea Swim — Triathlon Training Camp, Phan Thiet, June 2027
The complete three-discipline week, salt-water open swim included.
About This Camp
A week on the south coast at Mui Ne, where a 10km beach of clear water gives genuine sea open-water swimming, the discipline most camps quietly replace with a pool. Open coastal roads for volume, and the dramatic Bàu Trắng dunes as an iconic long-ride backdrop. In June the winter kitesurf wind is long gone and the summer one has barely started; the wet-season rain falls mostly in the afternoon. So the swim and the main ride go in the morning, the afternoons stay easy, and on the odd morning the sea is not right, the swim is shortened or moved.
Camp Focus
Race-condition open-water swimming in the sea, rolling coastal cycling and run work: the most complete three-discipline block in the calendar. A signature long ride out to the white dunes of Bàu Trắng.

What these sessions are
- Arrival
- Land, build the bike, meet the group. Nothing is trained on the first day.
- Evening debrief
- The group sits down with the coaches: the day's data, pacing, fuelling, and what changes tomorrow.
- Open water
- Sea or sheltered-water swimming as a group, with cover on the water.
- Endurance ride
- Steady aerobic riding, at a pace you could hold all day. Most of a camp week is this.
- Easy run
- Running kept genuinely easy, off the bike or on its own.
- Bike intervals
- Structured efforts above endurance pace, with the recoveries written in.
- Recovery
- Mobility, an easy swim, or nothing. The session that makes the next hard one possible.
- Long ride
- The long day on the bike. Route recced before you arrive, support vehicle following.
- Free
- Nothing scheduled. The afternoon is yours.
- Run intervals
- Structured running: repetitions and controlled recoveries.
- Brick
- Bike then run, back to back. The part of a race you cannot rehearse one discipline at a time.
- Departure
- Bikes packed, transfers out. The camp closes on the Friday it opened on.
Indicative structure, not a contract. Sessions move for the weather, the sea and the group that turns up. There are deliberately no durations, distances or intensities here: those get written for the athletes actually on the camp, once the coaches have seen them train.
