About This Camp

Quy Nhon is the coastal city between Da Nang and Nha Trang that the tour buses have not found. Long roads along the sea, headlands and coves, a working fishing port instead of a resort strip. The riding profile is rolling rather than mountainous, which is exactly what a volume week wants, and the coves give sheltered water for open-water sets. A camp chosen for its calm, not for its landmarks, and priced the same as the rest.

Camp Focus

Uninterrupted aerobic volume. Traffic is the real limit on training in Vietnam, and Quy Nhon has almost none, which makes this the week for the long, unbroken rides that a busier coast keeps chopping into intervals at junctions.

What these sessions are

Arrival
Land, build the bike, meet the group. Nothing is trained on the first day.
Evening debrief
The group sits down with the coaches: the day's data, pacing, fuelling, and what changes tomorrow.
Open water
Sea or sheltered-water swimming as a group, with cover on the water.
Endurance ride
Steady aerobic riding, at a pace you could hold all day. Most of a camp week is this.
Easy run
Running kept genuinely easy, off the bike or on its own.
Pool swim
Technique and a structured set, in a pool, where the set can actually be held.
Long ride
The long day on the bike. Route recced before you arrive, support vehicle following.
Recovery
Mobility, an easy swim, or nothing. The session that makes the next hard one possible.
Free
Nothing scheduled. The afternoon is yours.
Brick
Bike then run, back to back. The part of a race you cannot rehearse one discipline at a time.
Departure
Bikes packed, transfers out. The camp closes on the Friday it opened on.

Indicative structure, not a contract. Sessions move for the weather, the sea and the group that turns up. There are deliberately no durations, distances or intensities here: those get written for the athletes actually on the camp, once the coaches have seen them train.

About Quy Nhon

Best season

March-August (dry season)

Terrain

Coastal / Rolling

A coastal city between Da Nang and Nha Trang that the tourist coach has not reached. Empty roads along the sea, headlands and coves, and a working fishing port instead of a resort strip: the calmest riding on the whole calendar.

Why train here

Traffic is the limiting factor of every Vietnamese camp, and here there is barely any: long coastal roads with a headland profile that keeps a ride honest without ever turning into mountain work. Sheltered coves for open water. Phu Cat (UIH) connects through Saigon or Hanoi.
